You may wish to take day trips by ferry to the Uists or include Harris as part of a more extensive tour of the Western Isles chain from The Butt of Lewis to Barra.

The sandy beaches on the west coast of Harris are considered to be world class and you may have them to yourself, all are within easy reach of Cnoc Na Ba.

The Isle of Harris is a haven for artists and photographers. You will see seals and may see otters, deer and golden eagles.

The diversity of scenery is endlessly fascinating as is the weather which can range from balmy sunshine to wild invigorating winds sometimes on the same day. Winter weather is also tempered by the effects of the gulf stream so there is little snow and frost but it can be stormy.
